Is Moving to Cumbria from London Expensive?

Central Moves takes a look at what’s involved in Moving to Cumbria from London

Money makes the world go round, so they say, and therefore those looking to quit the London rat-race and head into the countryside are often dissuaded by the costs they think will be involved. So in order to prove that making the move from the capital to more rural locations is feasible, we thought we’d go through some of the costs of moving to Cumbria from London – one of the furthest distances you could move from the capital within England.

Transportation

Most people think that removal costs will be the biggest expenditure when they are moving house, and generally they are correct. This is because moving house is a huge job and takes a lot of work and skill to complete. The alternative is to try to move all the possessions yourself and undoubtedly end up damaging them – therefore making not hiring a removal company a completely false economy. Plus, a removal company like us still probably isn’t as expensive as you might think…

House Prices

The massive advantage of moving to Cumbria from London is that the house prices are so much lower. You could quite easily sell your home in London and buy a similar sized one in Cumbria, and still have a few hundred thousand pounds in your back pocket – more than enough to pay for the costs of removals! It should also be remembered that the cost of living is much lower in Cumbria too, so you’ll be saving even more money in the long run.

Happiness

Okay, so we are cheating a little here, but honestly: what is more important to you, money or happiness? Moving to Cumbria from London could absolutely change the lives of your family and therefore does it really matter what the financial cost is?
